Whiplash: What it is and how to get help
Whiplash is an injury when the neck is suddenly forced backward and then forward, put the spine into distress and often pain.
Whiplash occurs most often in auto accidents when the car has been rear-ended. However, there are other things that may cause whiplash: assault, jumping from great heights, certain roller coasters, sports such as football or rugby, and other high-functioning activities. According to Spine Health, there are certain factors that may cause whiplash such as having prior pain at the time of the injury, having Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, older age and of female gender.
